The United States has decided to change its stance on weed since its War on Drugs from the time of Nixon and this will come as a ray of hope to many weed enthusiasts in the country who had been voicing their opinions to legalize the substance. Right now most of the states have some sort of legalization on weed and it is not a completely banned substance anymore. 8 states legalized medical marijuana on Election Day and 5 of them even legalized recreational marijuana and therefore we are going to discuss these weed legal states.
MAINE
The citizens of Maine are the luckiest as both medical and recreational marijuana are legal and people are allowed to carry as much as 2.5 ounce of marijuana at once which is even more than the double allowed in states that legalized weed. Weed shops will be opened by 2018 and till then the citizens can grow their own stuff in confined arrangements.
COLORADO
Colorado legalized medical marijuana back in 2012 and right now due to heavy sales and stupendous amount of profit in the business, there are retail weed shops everywhere where any adult can buy up to an ounce of weed at one go.
WASHINGTON
Washington also legalized recreational marijuana back in 2012 and till now they have made a profit of about $1 billion with the sale of just recreational marijuana. An adult can buy up to an ounce of weed at a time but you cannot grow weed if you don’t need it medically.
NEVADA
Weed is legal in Nevada from 2017 and the retail shops with proper jurisdiction will open in 2018. An adult can possess about an ounce of weed at a time but you can only grow your own weed if you live about 25 miles from the dispensary that is closest to you.
